First Mountain Bike Ever And I Love It May 30, 2009 Reviewer:  D Fizzle "D Fizzle" (MN)  See all my reviews >

I have always owned some sort of BMX up until tonight. This is the first mountain bike I have ever purchased and I have to say that I absolutely love it, with the exception of the seat. That was easily fixed, though, with the purchase of the Schwinn Ultra Comfort Seat. Very sturdy and smooth ride. I would reccomend this bike to anyone.

this is a great bike!! September 5, 2009 Reviewer:  lou "lou" (nj)  See all my reviews >

my s25 is 4+ years old and i have nothing bad to say about its construction or parts. i ride it mainly on the street with some light off trail riding now and then and it has held up very well. no, it is not some sort of super trail bike but then again i don't need 6" of fork travel.

the only thing i will say is that when buying at a large store the setup of the various components is not up to speed. i had to take my 2s5 into a regular bike shop to have the derailuers, brakes, crank adjusted and the wheels trued. once i had this done the bike operated fine. the trigger shifters are especially nice!!

S-25 as of July 2009, well worth the money September 1, 2009 Reviewer:  Darth Sensate (Ohio, USA)  See all my reviews >

Schwinn replaced the SRAM trigger shifters with all Shimano trigger shifters in July 2009 on this model and they make all the difference in the world.

I tested four different S-25's (and the S-60) in stores and all the SRAM shifter either stopped working or fell apart.

I bought and ride this S-25 with the Shimano shifters and love it. I have ridden road and mountain bikes and repaired my own for over twenty years and this bike appears to be well constructed and without having to spend a fortune at a local bike shop. Keep in mind that this is an entry level bike and will not withstand heavy trail riding and downhill courses.

As with all store bought bikes, you must check the assembly to make sure all bolts and screws are tightened down: brakes, handle bars, shifters, seat, wheels. Most stores don't employ professional bike mechanics. I have found that Target stores do assemble better than any other store.

Great Buy! August 13, 2009 Reviewer:  commute biker "Nick R." (Lowville,NY,USA)  See all my reviews >

I bought this bike to ride up to work. Its been working great riding up hills isn't that hard because of the easy shifting. The trigger shifter is my favorite part it works great and its easy to switch gears seamlessly. I adjusted the handle bars and then had to re-adjust the shifting cables and things like that and it was fairly easy. Only negative is the uncomfortable seat, but that can be replaced easy enough. I would recomend it to any one who wants a fairly priced mountain bike.

Dangerous and Defective parts!!!!! July 30, 2009 Reviewer:  Mom of 3 (Overland Park, Kansas)  See all my reviews >

I bought this bike and had used it 8 maybe 9 times and was pulling my 2 year old son in a trailer on paved trail. The rear derailer made a couple of clinking noises and then it snapped off and jamed into my rear wheel spokes. Fortunately no one was seriously injured. This was a solid metal piece that broke!!! Do not buy this bike. It is dangerous and has defective parts!!!!!!

Good Price for Mountain Bike July 20, 2009 Reviewer:  Carlitos Way "Carlos M" (Whittier, Ca)  See all my reviews >

I shop all around for reasonable price on a Mountain bike. So decided to pay a little more than other brands. I made sure i did not want to have any problems with a cheap bike. I bought it Saturday and rode it off the Target store in Whittier to test it. Not bad i was impress that the people at Target put it together well since i read bad reviews. Of coarse i am going to pay $ extra and get it tune up by a professional that would be my personal advice if you do not know how to work on bikes and you want it to ride smooth. I took it for a spin on dirt road with Wolfgang my new Husky and almost ate it twice but the bike was light and had good brakes. i would recommend this S25 Schwinn unless you want to pay $-for pro mountain bike!

Love it! May 18, 2009 Reviewer:  E. Jones "happy biker" Real Name (Shawnee, KS United States)  See all my reviews >

I bought this bike yesterday and took it out immediately for a test ride. I rode it on a paved trail for 8 miles, and did a lot of gear shifting, which was smooth and flawless. The seat is really uncomfortable, but I think that has a lot more to do with my oversized bum than with the bike.

The bike road quietly and smooth. The brakes were not squeaky or jerky. I'm really really happy with the purchase. Obviously I haven't put it to the test on a dirt track yet, but for weekend leisure riding, it's perfect.
